Brent began his career working for Carter & Burgess in Denver.  During his three years in Denver, he was the lead urban designer for the $1.7 billion Transportation Expansion (T-REX) Project, which included reconstruction of almost 20 miles of the I-25 and I-225 corridors in south metro Denver, along with the construction of a new light rail line paralleling the highways, including 13 new light rail stations.  Mr. Thomas was responsible for the preliminary design of the light rail stations and assisting with the development of an aesthetic program for corridor bridges, noise walls, and retaining walls, as well as preparation of a corridor bike/ pedestrian plan.
