Ken
began his engineering career with the Washington State Department of
Transportation in the summer of 1992.
He worked on a 45 mile, $125 million highway upgrade in rural
Washington, starting first in the office assisting with preliminary
design, working in the field as a survey crew member, and finally
inspecting various portions of the construction.
Ken
began practicing engineering in the Wichita - Sedgwick County area in
September of 1994 with HWS Consulting Group.
His duties included construction inspection, Phase I and Phase II
environmental site assessments, as well as paving and sewer design.
Ken
began working for Ruggles & Bohm in December 1995 and has design
experience in arterial street design, residential street design, storm
and sanitary sewer sizing and design, water main extensions, and
stormwater detention facility design.
Ken made a brief excursion back to Washington in April 2000.
There, he gained experience in storm water quality treatment
design as well as expanding his experience in small site development.
He returned to Ruggles & Bohm in February 2001.
His current duties include design of subdivision related site
improvements, arterial street design, and sewer and water main projects.
His recent projects include Emerald Springs; Southwest Passage;
Bellechase Addition; Main 4, Northwest Interceptor Sewer; Buckner
Street- K-15 to Meadowlark; Central- Woodlawn to Rock Road; and Harry
Street- Greenwich to 127th Street East. Ken is comfortable working with a
variety of communities, having done work for the cities of Wichita,
Derby, Maize, Newton, Clearwater, Hesston and Andover. |
